Kailash Manasarovar Overland Yatra with Muktinath
Muktinath is a place of worship both for Hindus & Buddhists. It is located in Muktinath Valley at a height of 3,710 meters at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass (part of the Himalayas), Mustang, Nepal. Hindus consider Muktinath as a scared place. Mukti Kshetra as called by Hindus means a place of “salvation or moksha”
Some people said this place to be Salagrama. Many Shaligrams as found here are known to be as incarnation of lord Vishnu and he worship them. According to Hindu believes lord Vishnu turned into Shaligram because of Brinda's Curse.
The waterway downstream from Muktinath along Kali Gandaki is the origin of all Silas or Shaligrams that are needed to construct Lord Vishnu’s temple anywhere in the world. Thus this makes it as the holiest place of pilgrimage for Hindus, Buddhists, and Vaishnavas. At Muktinath there could be found around 108 water springs and this number has great value in Eastern philosophy. In Hindu astrology, there are 12 zodiacs or Rashi and 9 planets or Graha, giving a total of 108 combinations.

Additional Important Information for Heli trip to Kailash Manasarovar
Based on our experience, we are hereby mentioning about unpredictable climatic disturbance in heli trips to Kailash which is a common factor of heli trips to kailash mansarovar. We operate trips in regular fixed wings flights between Nepalgunj to Simikot and regular helicopter service between Simikot and Hilsa. This tripis dependent on the operation of those regular flights/helicopter and is completely weather permitted. We are sharing with you herein below tentative information about the additional expenses which may incur on you during the trip in unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions, political closure, strikes, riots, technical failures etc.
Know about Nepalgunj – This is a small town at India-Nepal border (200 kms from Lucknow) with more facilities and infrastructure. All flights to Simikot depart from here only. Nepalganj and Simikot are not connected by road hence flight is the only option. Flights from Nepalganj to Simikot are the small aircrafts operated by local airline. Even in minor climatic disturbance these flights gets delayed or cancelled for safety reasons and it is totally at the description of the local authorities and flight operators. We do not bear any liability for such delays and/or cancelations.
Know about Simikot – Simikot is a very small hill settlement in Nepal and a point of air connection between Hilsa and Nepalganj. Simikot is better place in terms of living climatic conditions and service standard, as compare with Hilsa. The flight connectivity between Nepalganj to Simikot and Simikot to Hilsa is totally depending on weather conditions, which is beyond our control. In the event of climatic problems, flight cancelations, flight delays or any other unforeseen situation our team will help you in managing accommodation, food and other services which will be on direct payment basis.
Know about Hilsa – Hilsa is a deserted border town in Nepal, close to China border from where pilgrims enter to visit Kailash Manasarovar. In the event when the pilgrims get stuck at Hilsa due to climatic conditions, flight delays etc the facilities of accommodation, food, medical etc are very limited. Longer delays are also expected in rare cases as faced in May trip. Managing with the best available resources is the only option we get at Hilsa and discomfort is very obvious at this place especially if the hault gets longer than expected. The accommodation at HIlsa is in backcountry style and available food will be very basic (rice, noodles, soup, local water etc).
The unpredictable weather conditions and other limitations with the flights operating between these sectors mentioned above, sometimes causes short or long delays in onward and/or return journey to/from Kailash Manasarovar, making the situation little tough and we only can wait for our turn to get the flight to next destination.
Alternatively, there are few privately operated helicopters with capacity of 06 seats and 24 seats who offer their charter services for emergency evacuation and they charge as below:-
Nepalganj to Simikot (one side)
05 seat Helicopter – USD 4000 each helicopter / one side fly
22 seat helicopter – USD 15000 each helicopter / one side fly
Simikot to Hilsa

18 seat helicopter – USD 5500 each helicopter / one side fly
Hilsa to Simikot
06 seat Helicopter – USD 1500 each helicopter / one side fly
15 seat helicopter – USD 15000 each helicopter / one side fly
strong>Simikot to Nepalganj (one side)
06 seat Helicopter – USD 4000 each helicopter / one side fly
